Elongated, armour-headed seabed fish that 'walks' on three free finger-like rays beneath each large fan-shaped pectoral fin. Greyish-brown with a white-spotted, nearly straight side-line; the dark blotch on the first (spiny) dorsal fin is the giveaway.
